On Saturday, February 3, 2018, the Heart2Heart Foundation held their Queen of Hearts Gala to benefit women’s heart health. At that gala event, they gave out awards to “recognize individuals, organizations and companies whose support helps to advance our mission to inspire and enable women and their loved ones to take action that prevents heart attack, stroke, and premature death.” And we’re thrilled and honored to say that Media Zeus was one of the award recipients. Our company was chosen, according to Sheila Caldwell, the president and founder of the organization, “in appreciation of the in-kind video campaigns created to promote our Old Town Zombie Crawl 5K (2014-2015) and our annual Back2School Block Party (2015-2017).”
Because of these video campaigns, the Heart2Heart Foundation was able to share their “life-saving message,” Caldwell adds, “with more than 5,000 adults and youth in our community.” Why We Support Heart2Heart “Fortunately,” says Brian White from Media Zeus, “heart disease doesn’t run in our family. Still, we felt it was very important to support Heart2Heart. Our area is a growing community, so there will be plenty of people and families who will need what this organization has to offer.” Fun Night Out! Besides being for a worthy cause, the Queen of Hearts Gala was a great night, held at McBryde Hall of Winthrop University. Ladies were all encouraged to wear their finest red dresses in honor of heart health – tiaras, too, to remind women that they are the queens of their own hearts, and in the hearts of other people in their lives. Gentlemen were asked to wear red ties. The menu included vegetable lasagna and pork loin, with an open bar that also offered non-alcoholic beverages. The music was superb, by the Tim Hartis Jazz Ensemble and DJ Travis Dupree. The silent auction offered fun ways to support the cause because, after all, who wouldn’t want to win Carolina Panthers pre-game tickets for two, an in-home wine tasting party, a Myrtle Beach weekend getaway for two, golf outings, a spa day, a Moonlight Kayak trip for two or day passes to the Whitewater Center? More About the Organization The Heart2Heart Foundation provides crucial information to help women protect their health, including the following pieces of information:
As part of their coronary prevention program, they have formed partnerships with local health care providers to provide screenings that are low cost, often free. When women need financial assistance, the organization raises scholarship funds to help ensure they can get the screenings they need. “This is still the tip of the iceberg,” White says, “of what they do to help our community stay healthy. We truly are honored to be in partnership with them.” Comments are closed.
